Year End Stats  Demonstrate Plenty of Confidence in Our Local KW Real Estate Market. 

 

It's confirmed! The facts are in and there's clear evidence with steady price gains across the spectrum.

The average sale price of all detached homes sold in KW at the end of 2011 increased by 3.9% over the previous year to $342,659 and the same upward trend is demonstrated with condo sales experiencing an average price increase of 3.5 %. This increase is reflected in an average condo sale price of $205,354 at year end. 

A continuing trend in 2011 was the ongoing consumer demand and sales activity in the sales in the higher priced homes.

The year did get off to a little slower start in the first half however by June the momentum returned with the end result of a slight fall back of overall unit sales for the year. Did you know that over 6200 residential units sold in KW last year?

Another interesting fact is the overall increase in the average sale price of all residential units in KW over the past ten years. At the end of 2011 it was $293,816 compared to an average sale price of $174,667 at the end of 2002. That’s a whopping increase of $119,149! I’m sure you’ll agree these figures confirm that real estate is a truly a solid investment with an excellent return.

By all accounts we experienced another great year! We believe these results are a reflection of continued confidence in our strong local economy and our healthy community.

Looking ahead we predict another balanced year for both buyers and sellers. Sellers will continue to benefit from an active sales market resulting from buyer access to low interest mortgage rates.
